OSTEOPATHY

Osteopathy encourages the body's ability to self-heal by restoring body balance, mechanics and motion.

Osteopathic manual practitioners use an in-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and an integrative whole body approach, in order to diagnose and treat the body.

Builds Body Stability

Osteopathic manual treatments work to improve the body's physical environment in order to encourage its ability to self-heal.

During treatment, Jennifer uses a variety of techniques to address structural motion restrictions that obstruct the body's motion and function. By freeing up these restricted tissues and joints, treatments can promote better nerve communication and fluid circulation within the body.

Jennifer assesses the body for:

  • Areas of motion restriction (in joints, muscles & other soft tissues)
  • Anatomical asymmetries
  • Changes in tissue quality

The integration of the whole body and the individuality of each person are important considerations during assessment and treatment. Jennifer works to find and treat the root cause for why your body isn't working as well as it should, with a mission to build balance, stability, vitality and health.

Osteopathic Manual Therapy is included in most extended health care benefits. Check with your insurance company for details.

PRINCIPLES OF OSTEOPATHIC MANUAL TREATMENT

  • The body is a dynamic unit of function (body, mind, and spirit)
  • Structure and function are reciprocally interrelated
  • The body is self-healing and self-regulating
